Meet the FRDT Team.
I’m Kevin Lloyd, founder of First Response Demolition and Transport. After 23 years in Public Safety, I retired in 2024 to focus on a lifelong second passion: operating heavy equipment. My career has always been rooted in service — first in the U.S. Army, where I served 10 years and was honorably discharged in 2004, and then in public safety until retirement.
First Response Demolition and Transport grew from that dedication to service and hands-on work. We bring the same discipline, attention to safety, and commitment to mission that guided my years in uniform and in emergency response to every project we take on. Whether it’s site demolition, debris removal, or transport, we prioritize safety, reliability, and getting the job done right.
I’m a proud dad of three sons: one is in college, chasing his degree and his dreams; another serves in the U.S. Army, committed to protecting our country; and the third works alongside me every day in the family business. I’ve been married 25 years to my wonderful wife, Cheryl — her steady support and partnership have been the backbone of our home and our work.
Running a business with family around you brings its own rewards and challenges. Having a son on the crew means we share the long hours, the tough decisions, and the satisfaction when a job’s done right. The college student keeps us grounded in what young people face today, and our son in the Army reminds us of the values of service, discipline, and sacrifice.
At home, Cheryl’s been my partner through it all — raising the boys, keeping the household steady, and cheering on every milestone. After 25 years, our relationship is built on trust, humor, and a lot of teamwork.
Family is central to who I am: a business owner, a husband, and a father. Each son contributes something unique to our lives and our business, and Cheryl’s been the constant that ties it all together.
My name is Jalen Lloyd. I currently serve in the United States Army as a 19K (armor crewman/tanker), operating one of the military’s most lethal and heaviest platforms. As part of a tank crew, I focus on precision operation, disciplined teamwork, and rigorous safety standards required to employ and maintain heavy armored vehicles.
During my service I’ve had several notable assignments and accomplishments:
Assigned to 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, TX — my tank crew earned Brigade Top Gun, recognizing our superior gunnery skills and unit performance.
Assigned to 1st Cavalry Division in Killeen, TX — while with the 1st Cav I deployed to Lithuania and Poland, conducting combined-operations and readiness missions in complex, multinational environments.
I remain actively committed to my service obligations while working alongside my family as a Heavy Equipment Operations Manager. In that role I manage the operation, maintenance, and safe transport of heavy machinery, applying the same attention to detail, preventative maintenance practices, and safety procedures that are essential in armored vehicle operations.
What I bring:
Expert heavy-vehicle operation skills, including vehicle systems knowledge, gunnery fundamentals, and tactical maneuvering.
Proven safety-first mindset: thorough pre-operation inspections, hazard mitigation, and strict adherence to SOPs.
Leadership and teamwork: experience coordinating crews under pressure and communicating clearly across ranks and with allied forces.
Logistical and maintenance awareness: scheduling preventive maintenance, supervising repairs, and ensuring equipment readiness.
I’m eager to demonstrate my skill set, commitment to safety, and operational discipline in new challenges and opportunities.
Safety is the upmost priority.
When you book with FRDT for your demolition project, we always conduct a thorough site survey before making any decisions. Our trained team assesses the property and surrounding areas to identify hazards, exposures, and structural risks so the demolition plan protects people, nearby buildings, and vehicles.
What our site survey includes:
Full perimeter inspection to locate utilities, underground lines, and environmental concerns
Structural assessment of adjacent buildings to prevent unintended damage
Evaluation of access routes for safe equipment movement and material removal
Identification of potential airborne hazards and plans for dust, noise, and vibration control
Verification that the selected equipment and methods are appropriate and safe for the specific site conditions
Safety measures we implement:
Isolation and protection of nearby structures, vehicles, and landscaping
Secure exclusion zones and clear signage to keep people out of harm’s way
Use of protective barriers, netting, and dust suppression systems as needed
Coordination with utility companies and local authorities when required
Ongoing monitoring during demolition to adjust controls if conditions change
We document our findings and share the plan with you before work begins, so you have a clear understanding of the steps we’ll take to protect the site and surrounding areas. Your safety and the safety of the community are our top priorities.
Once we have surveyed your project, we will review all relevant safety concerns and outline the measures we’ll take to mitigate them. This includes evaluating traffic control needs, protecting surrounding structures, and safeguarding any nearby property that could be affected by our operations. We’ll clearly describe the methods, equipment, and personnel assignments required to address each risk. Lastly, every employee of First Response Demolition and Transport will be CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed and First Aid Certified.
After drafting the safety plan, we’ll walk you through it to ensure you understand every element and to capture any site-specific input you may have. Once all parties approve and sign off on the plan, we will proceed to schedule the work, coordinating timing to minimize disruption and comply with any permit or regulatory requirements.
.
Once your project is complete, FRDT will conduct a final walk-through to confirm we’ve delivered everything agreed to during the initial survey. We’ll review each item on the scope, address any remaining concerns on the spot, and document completion to match your signed approval. Our team works diligently to ensure your satisfaction — and we won’t consider the job done until you’re 110% satisfied.
